Following on from the announcement made by the Department for Education, we are putting plans in place to support the national effort of keeping schools open to support the children of key workers.
Many parents working in these critical sectors may be able to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be. If you are able to meet your childcare needs at home – please do this in the first instance. The fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.
The examples of key workers mentioned in the address yesterday were: healthcare workers, emergency service personnel, social care workers and delivery drivers. In order for us to gauge the volume of Key Workers in our school community, please could you kindly complete this form today or as soon as possible, if you believe you fall into the category of a key worker and you require your child to attend school.
Our intention is to provide a safe and supervised environment for all of our students to complete their work. At the same time, we are also looking at any children within our community that we feel might fall into the definition of a vulnerable child, and will be communicating with those individual families directly, to extend the offer of help.
Thank you for your continued support.
Wishing you and your family well.
